Low-GHG, Reliable, Distributed Power Solutions

Back to Electricity

Low-greenhouse gas emission, continuously available distributed power solutions, such as highly efficient natural-gas-powered fuel cell technologies, could provide an important source of low- carbon grid flexibility on the distribution grid to balance against swings in distributed and centralized intermittent renewable energy like wind and solar. However, In order for these technologies to represent truly cost effective solutions for grid flexibility, we will need transformational advances to make fuel-cell technology, or other similar alternatives, significantly more affordable.
