Low-GHG Air Transport

Back to Transportation

Air transport currently accounts today for 1.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions and is growing rapidly. Significant technology-enabled opportunities exist for major emissions reductions in the air transport sector through the development of dramatically more efficient engines, improved aerodynamics, advanced lightweight materials and structures, improved navigation, and other advanced technologies, in addition to the development and use of low greenhouse gas footprint liquid fuels such as advanced biofuels and other CO2-neutral transport fuels.
