CO₂ Extraction from the Environment

Back to Manufacturing

In order for the production of carbon-based products to be truly carbon-neutral, it must begin with materials that capture CO2 from the environment. Because CO2 in the air and ocean is so dilute, collecting it from these sources and concentrating it requires significant amounts of energy over large capture areas. As a result, no economically viable technologies to capture CO2 from the environment have been developed to date. Transformative new solutions will be required to make this technology a reality and enable global-scale production of carbon-neutral materials.
